On 15 and 16 October 2025, the 5th Transnational Forum of the RuralMED Mobility project took place in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, hosted by the Stara Zagora Regional Economic Development Agency (SZ REDA).
This edition had a special significance, as it coincided with SZ REDA’s 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of contribution to regional development while advancing the project’s mission for sustainable rural mobility.
Over two days, partners and stakeholders reviewed the progress of pilot actions, discussed challenges in rural and remote Mediterranean areas, and evaluated the first results. A dedicated panel addressed sustainable mobility and hydrogen as transformative solutions, bringing together perspectives from European experts and projects such as RuralMED Mobility and GH2M.
The forum also included study visits to pilot sites in Radnevo and Galabovo, where new charging stations are being installed. These pilots aim to expand access to electric mobility in rural areas and support the wider adoption of sustainable transport models across the Mediterranean.
