The RuralMED Mobility project was highlighted at the 9th National Meeting of Transport Authorities, held in Portalegre, through the institutional collaboration of our partner CIMAA and the full support of Portalegre Municipality in the organization and execution of this event.
The project visibility in this meeting represented an important dissemination opportunity with public entities, transport authorities, policymakers, and specialized technicians from all over the country, reinforcing the visibility of the innovative solutions that RuralMED Mobility is developing for rural and low-density territories.
Organized by the Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT), and hosted by CIMAA at the Guy Fino Tapestry Museum, the event brought together experts and institutional representatives to discuss the main challenges of mobility and public transport in Portugal, focusing on sustainability, accessibility, territorial cohesion, and innovation in transport systems.
The event focused on key topics closely linked to the objectives of RuralMED Mobility, including sustainable mobility in low-density territories, transport decarbonisation, flexible transport solutions for rural populations and the integration of innovation and technology into mobility management systems.
In this context, the dissemination of RuralMED Mobility provided an opportunity to showcase the work being carried out within the Interreg Euro-MED programme, particularly regarding the implementation of electric mobility solutions, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) systems and new approaches to improve connectivity between urban and remote rural areas.
The participation in this national meeting reinforces the importance of European cooperation and the exchange of good practices to support more inclusive, sustainable and efficient mobility solutions across Mediterranean rural territories.
